At Mira Travels we value our commitment to achieve our business goals in a sustainable manner. We believe that the responsible practice of sustainable tourism will create the positive effects on local communities, while it will reduce negative social and environmental impacts of tourism. Our motto is “Wonderful Holidays with Responsible Experiences”.

Child Safe Tourism

Mira Travels commits a strong responsibility towards children and is a proud supporter of Child Safe Tourism campaign. The campaign aims to equip our travellers with knowledge and information on simple things one can do to become a child safe traveller.

Community Based Tourism

When developing our tour programs, we keep in mind to include responsible activities. Mira Travels supports International Trade Centre (ITC)’s community based tourism projects in Kayah State of Myanmar. Through our Kayah tour products, tourists will enjoy the opportunity to learn authentic and unspoiled cultures of Myanmar’s some minority people. We firmly believe that our products will contribute positively to economy of local ethnic communities beyond sightseeing.

Some of Our Sustainable Practices

Whenever possible, we utilize services of reliable local suppliers such as boats, restaurants, souvenir shops and local tour guides to support their incomes. In our tours, we integrate green activities such as walking, bicycling and taking a trishaw or horse carts etc to reduce carbon footprint. At our office, we introduce green practices for saving water, energy and paper.

Mira HOPE Foundation

Giving back is part of our corporate DNA. Mira Travels has been supporting charities and local communities through its donations and tour programs as well as via MiraHOPE Foundation. The foundation focuses on educational development of poor children in Myanmar. We have been supporting primary education of three students in Irrawaddy Division in a five-year sponsorship.
